BabyGirl was the song that launched Sean Paul in 1996. Since then this Jamaican singer was considered to be the best exponent of Jamaica´s dancehall, along with the reggae.
The international acclaim that followed, catapulted him into the twentieth century. In the year 2000 his first album “Stage One” was the sound that drew the attention of North America.
Sean Paul helped make dancehall to be recognised beyond the shores of Jamaica like never before. His second album in 2002 “Dutty Rock”, opens weith the melodies of dancehall with reggae. The effect was huge.
In 2005 a new record appeared, “Trinity”, which continued with the fusion of sounds.
Sean Paul added the frantic rhythm of the original dancehall, with a smattering of hip-hop and reggae and to this he added social poetry.
